A huge thank you to all who participated in the first annual ASNEW Walk for Autism on September 22. It was a beautiful day for our 300 + walkers. We raised $5000.00! Profits will be used to fund chapter activites for our members in Northeast Wisconsin. Plans are already in the works for next year's walk. A special thank you to Michelle Charlier and Mary Rinehart, our walk chairpersons

Upcoming Events

Several parents have asked about bringing children with very high functioning autism/Asperger Syndrome together for organized social events and play dates. Contact Lisa Dillhunt to add you/your child's name to the list of those interested. We are also looking for parents who would be willing to assist with organization for the group.

New for 2008!!

We will be adding free childcare at our regular support meetings. Staff from Paragon will provide this service and ASNEW will pick up the cost. Parent in need of child care will need to contact us 1 week prior to the meeting date to ensure proper staffing.

This year's summer event is a family picnic! Join us on Sunday, July 13 from 12:30 - 3:30 at Ted Fritsch Park in Green Bay. ASNEW will provide lunch, clowns, and games for our families at no charge :)

Our first ever public rally for autism awareness! Help us keep autism in the forefront of community awareness during Autism Awareness Month. Join us on Tuesday, April 15 from 6:00 - 7:00PM on the steps of the Brown County Courthouse. We will have a brief presentation by the mayor; students from Red Smith School will read essays written on autism; families will participate in putting together a giant puzzle that symbolizes all of us working to put the pieces together. Tundra Lodge Event - Sunday, January 13, 2008.

We will have a party room for food and space for children who need some time in a quiet setting. Life guards are familiar with children with autism.
